Is anyone at a loose end? I really want the video of Richard Burton reading A Child's Christmas in Wales, filmed by Camera Three, but I can't find it anywhere online - even Jim doesn't seem to have a copy. If anyone can find it, my gratitude would know only reasonable bounds.

Thanks for digging, Smiffy. A 48 hour hire would give me time to try a few stream downloaders on the address. There may be some other Jimware that recognises a stream coming in and saves it as a file too.

In the past I've 'discovered' mp4s in the page source for direct download. Neither of those sites look technically sophisticated, so you might get lucky.

Yeah, likewise.

And hellfire, Would either Dylan Thomas or Richard Burton not want it liberated for the people?

According to legend, Thomas' last words were "I've had eighteen straight whiskies—I think that's the record.”

I joined artfilms - 7.50AU$ for the first month - and downloaded it using the free OBS Studio, so thanks again.

Bonus - I'm now watching all sorts of arty shiznit for a month.

May I ask what you want with it (the Burton one)?

Just my completist thang. I think it's a beautiful bit of prose - all the better for being spoken. Burton's telling of it is very good; and, for its curiosity's sake, my Christmas card this year. But the best reading of it - better than even Thomas's own - is this one, by Bob Kingdom for Beeb 2: https://vimeo.com/274684677

Pretty sure we had a vinyl lp of Dylan Thomas poetry when I was very young*. though I can't remember who did the readings.

Yeah, this looks familiar:

One of the early album pressings of Dylan's reading included three loose leaf engravings by Fritz Eichenberg, which are now worth a bit. I don't know if was that one, though.

Never heard of him. Did he do the cover art?

No, three loose leaf prints as inserts, I think; later used to illustrate a publication of the text.

That I remember, though not as a loose leaf, but in an insert booklet. This would have been around 1960 so quite possibly misremembered that detail.

No, the loose leaf was my assumption. A leaflet sounds entirely plausible.
