Later remade as a BBC miniseries with Bill Nighy (which I haven't seen).
The score for the film consists of random Dave Brubeck jazz standards, increasingly jarring and malappropo (which is not even a word).
It may have worked for Charlie Brown Christmas, but emphatically not for this.
