The latter. Broken bones and a partial disembowelling (I said it was gory), all treated with a roll of the silver.  Quite the 70s disco get-up by the end.

I don't think I've made it past ~10-minutes of a Dario Argento. ISTR trying a couple, and wrote him off after that.
