Does anyone run it from cli or app? Any risk applying it to a running system? I'm thinking specifically of my Nexus 7, where I hope it will ameliorate *possible* recurring file system problems that may be cause of a progressive/intermittent slow-down.

Supposedly, "fstrim just accelerates a process that Android will do itself eventually", but from what I've read, it only does this when the device is left turned on and plugged into charger for a 24-hour cycle.

Problem is that I only charge it overnight.

Just ran it on /cache (after big slowdown over weekend) and rebooted to system without apparent ill effect. And it's made SFA of a difference.  :-S

Might be time to send the Nexus 7 to the tech graveyard.

I ran it on my of my old Notes with no issues. Didn't notice any difference afterwards though.

No idea. It was a few years ago now. Can't remember if I downloaded an app that ran it while the phone was running.

Ah, just wondered if it was TWRP, which runs in unlocked fastboot/recovery (so I guess android isn't running after all)
