Read the book, have the DVD.

The book is best. The book and the film are better than the (kind of) reboot "Arrival".

The war scenes, and parody of middle-class America were really, really well done, especially the long drive to the hospital. The aging makeup and sci fi not so much (but well enough to carry the story). For an encore we are watching Duck Soup, another absurdist project, with singing and dancing.
