That's a real shame. I used to stay up late as a ~10yr old watching the old Godzilla films and became quite a fan of the low tech, zero budget stuff.

How the hell did he walk around in a concrete suit?

It's referred to in the article Throb linked to. The first costume was made from concrete because rubber was scarce after the war.
