I was expecting a Mensa type quiz where they showed you pictures of people in random situations that then had to be rated. :C

If I was going to make a test like that, I'd have pictures of someone taking the bin bag out of the bin, only to find it's torn on a metal burr on the rim, consequently some beans and a torn teabag have leaked out. There's a cat just peering around a chair leg to see if there's anything good going.

There'd also be an abandoned fun fair. At night. Just near the ticket booth, there's a clown, dancing in the moonlight.

The last picture would be Henry Kelly carrying a 5 bar fireplace through a door to dwarf's cellar.

All good, all good.

But will Kenny deliver one of his bewitching chip shop stories for chrimbo? (cheer)

It's evocative, I'm pretty much there already. Well done. I'm just not sure what it is I am rating, or by what criteria. *fail klaxon*

I didn't get that far along, laying out criteria comes after the initial idea stage. It'd be measuring the amount of pathos you have for a certain situation, then you click on a swingometer of pathos, judging the image according to how sad you found it.

Did you ever see such a messed up situation in your whole life, son?

I can visualise other things, if you'd prefer.

How about a thimble placed quite near a baker's footprint?

Or a shadow of a fire hydrant outlined on the pavement with purple chalk? At 12:03pm.

If a Narwhal is caught in the surreptitious act of urinating on the hydrant in the shade of a larch, then yes - that can happen.

I thought that was only a Pennsylvania-Dutch thing.

I don't see how, seeing as both are French inventions. :C

We only take notice of the French when they are in trouble. Or if they send us big statues.

Plus, the baker immigrants never said where they got their customs from, or at least lied to us.

Yeah, they probably lied. Though there are tell tale signs that they might have been French.

Is it recorded if they ever said 'boulangerie' or was there a sudden uprising in quality patisserie of the time, east of the Appalachians?

I seem to recall something about a new presence of a certain type of droppings, or wait - was it something about bourgeoisie... no, I think actually it was cow patties.

Sorry.
