Just writing my list for Satan Clause, pretty much only thing I need is more hard drive space. I'd like a 2tb tbh for the Xbone, 2.5 inch usb 3 is required for that I think. Could also do with upgrading my raspberry pi as I'm having to delete stuff. It's not so much that I want to keep the stuff, I just can't be arsed deleting it all the time because I'm lazy. 2.5 inch would be better for that to save on more bloody power cables. So seagate are OK then? What abo6t Toshiba? They keep coming up cheap cheap. I suppose reliability isn't too much of an issue for the Xbone drive - it's just for downloaded game data, can soon enough be redownloaded from teh xbox live.

No, certain models and generations of Seagates are supposed to be pants, hence needing to improve my backup setup. HGST/Hitachi look to be better. Saying that, I've had various hard drive makes die on me over the years. A

That link suggests that the cheapest £/gb for a 2.5 inch drive is Samsung unit at £71 for a bare drive. (should probably note that by 2.5 inch what I really mean is usb bus powered. It's going to sit hidden in a shelf, I really don't care what size it is a long as it doesn't need a separate power cable)

Nah... the WD Reds are optimised for NAS (they are rated for double the load/unload cycles over, say, the WD Greens) but they can be used elsewhere as a regular drive too. Drawings n' that
