UK has announced that passengers on certain routes* carrying electronic devices in their hand luggage should ensure that they're charged enough to be switched on. As if the queues at security weren't long enough with people having to take their laptops out, now they'll have to power the bloody things on as well. Shitbag!

Still, yet another reason to avoid travel to the United States of Merkin.

They were doing this in 2002 when I went to Canada, I assume due to the 9/11 panic. I had to prove every electronic item was working. Phone, camera, speakers, MP3 player etc.

No such misconceptions here! I fully expect it to be of FA value in defeating terrorism and supreme value in inconveniencing everyone and increasing delays. Hence the terrorists make more gains!
