I have a problem with polls (I have the latest version of the forum software)...

When I turn on the option that guests can vote in my new poll, it appears that they can vote (because the guest vote count goes up), but their votes are not included...

In other words, my poll is showing that 1 member and 2 guests have voted, but the results graph is showing only 1 vote....

Can I do something to fix this?

I think it's a bug.

I don't have proper Internet access at the moment, only access via my phone (or tethered) so I can't check for sure at the moment. I'll check again during the week when my broadband gets switched back on.

Help Matt!!

I am having a serious problem!

Now when I login to my forum I don't see the "admin" tab... I can't get to the admin panel!

I went into the database and looked at all the tables and couldn't find anything...

In the table "FORUMS" there is one record with "owner_uid" set to 1.... me!

What's going on?

Have you or anyone changed any permissions recently?

See if you can you still access the admin tools by going directly to /forum/admin.php.

(The owner_uid isn't used for permissions, its just a visual indication of who to contact about the forum.)

If I go directly there, it says:

You do not have permission to use this section.

This seems to coincide with me deleting a forum -- via the admin section. I had decided to start a separate forum, but then changed my mind, so I deleted it. (I did not have it set as the primary forum.) It was right after that delete that the admin tab went away....

And no, I didn't change any permissions on any files in my webhosting account. The admin.php are set at 0644...

Does this help?

Sorry, by permissions I meant the user permissions in Beehive.

I'll have to check what happened, see if I can reproduce the problem. In the meantime , do you have another member who is also an Admin and can grant you access again?

If not, can you tell me your User ID on your forum and I'll put together some SQL to restore your permissions.

I'm not explaining myself very well. I need your UID, not your username.

If you hover over a link to your user profile you'll see the UID on the end of in the link. Here on Teh Forum it's 2326.

If you do the same on your forum, you should see your unique user ID.

If you created your user account during the installation of Beehive, I would guess it might be 1, but I can't be sure.

Thanks.

Hi Matt!
I'm baaaaaack....

Today I installed a brand new Beehive forum in my new webhosting service.

(I went to a new webhost because my old one didn't provide the latest version of php, etc...)

I was doing some tests and I still cannot get the guest votes to show in the results of a poll.

I decided to create a test poll in this forum and I voted in it. Then I logged out and voted a few times as guest. Lo and behold, the poll HERE showed the guest votes!!

How come polls work here but not in my new installation?

I installed beehive 1.3.1 .... that is the latest version, right?

Btw, I do have the options set to allow guests to vote in polls...

What do I do???

Also, the forum stats area doesn't work.. it says: "An error has occurred."
And I am getting beehive error reports sent to my email that say:

E_USER_ERROR Call to a member function query() on a non-object
Error Message:
Error in line 1462 of file stats.inc.php
Version Strings:
Beehive Forum 1.3.1, on PHP/5.3.27, Linux, CGI-FCGI, MySQL/5.1.70

We have a much never development version of Beehive installed here, Teh Forumites are pretty much my guinea pigs for new features and fixes. They get all the shiny new toys and fixes (and breakages) before they it goes to general release.

The Forum States (as you can see) is also fixed here.

I don't have time to fix these problems in 1.3.1 (recently started a new job), but hoping to release what you see here as 1.4.0 soon-ish, although I have no date set yet. If you're feeling brave, you can try out the same development build by downloading the current trunk from Beehive's github page.

Oh heck, if it's good enough for you, it's good enough for me!

I downloaded it and successfully installed it... working great! Polls work, stats work... yeah!

Congratulations on your new job!
