My current laptop is 1200x800, which is already a bit small height-wise, but the lost 32 pixels going to 1366x768 really isn't going to make that much difference.

True, but the problem is that you can often go for a bigger laptop and yet lose resolution. I've seen plenty of 15" laptops with 1366x768 resolutions, yet the simple 12" laptop I have at work which is 2 years old has a 1200x800 res. Similarly, my GF's old laptop was a fairly simple and basic Lenovo with a 1400x900 res, yet most competing laptops only had the 1366x768 res. And going from 900 vertical pixels to 768 is a noticeable downgrade. Thankfully, the new laptop has kept the same vertical res. Overall though, whilst the laptop is mostly awesome, the screen doesn't feel like an upgrade from her old Lenovo. ---

It's not been shipped yet :(
