No, you got it wrong. The right answer would be:

A. Me, predicting stuff after it's happened.

I endorse Patch's post. If you want us to believe that, through your expertise, you can predict extraordinary global events, then predict an extraordinary global event. If you cannot, then stop pretending to yourself and to us that you can. It's delusional and tedious.

Presumably, in terms of your personal psychology, you blather on like this as a tactic to win the attention that you fail to receive in offline life.

It is not irrelevant, I suspect, that the focus of your delusion is in your own alleged prediction and 'their' alleged control of vast global forces - weather, tectonic plate movement, volcanoes - thus ascribing to yourself an understanding (and implicit control) beyond that of the rest of humankind.

I would recommend reading Nietzsche's On the Genealogy of Morals, followed in short order by Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment, in the faint hope that it might give you a sense of perspective on your place in the order of things. Like me and like the other members of Teh Possie, you will probably be a happier turtle if you can accept that you are just waggling your tail in the mud along with the rest of us.

I'm not sure it's the thread that's annoying people; I thinks it's just you.

No one's said it's getting on their tits. Myself, I'm enjoying reading it. There's nothing inherently annoying or objectionable here, it's just your seeming inability to engage in human discourse that frustrates people.

There's maybe 4,000 Floyd googlers who disagree though.

Literally no fucking clue what that means. But in the context of the internet 4000 people is like saying 3 people in China agree with me.

Isn't the fact I've singled out Iceland in the last few posts enough.

No, you fucking ridiculous loon. Iceland is a volcanic island. Any moron can say "at some point in the future there will be a significant tectonic/volcanic event in Iceland". That's not a prediction by any stretch of anyone's imagination.

How about you stop failing to be funny and tell us who you actually think 'they' are?

I may well put you on ignore again, but only if and when I choose to do so. For the moment I am interested in confronting you with the gulf between your delusions and any semblance of reality. Of course I do this with the caveat you might still be a troll - there are no clear demarcations between delusion and trollery, just a sliding scale - but I'm inclined to think not.

Mud on the windscreen, the first bolt-hole of the seer; 'predicting it isn't as easy as it was...' What a pity! Because we're all pretty good at postdicting, to be honest. Why, even I can tell you what happened last week, at least on the days I wasn't drunk.

So, Iceland, then, old bean: what's going to happen in Iceland, and when?

Oh, and if you are unable to furnish a clear prediction of an extraordinary event, then I think you need to accept that you are to all intents and purposes indistinguishable from a fraud or at best, a self-deceiver. Think of it as an inverted Turing test.

<edit> In the interests of fair play, I will offer you my own hostage to fortune on what I believe to to be a similar scale of (im)probability: I predict that Grant Shapps, newly appointed Tory party Chairman, will be forced to resign his office in the next two months.</edit>

I love you all, you're just so gay!

But I don't love you because you're gay. Your gayness makes me laugh.

Keep making me laugh gaypeeps!

See, Snort? That's the way to do it. No spurious postdictions, No Nostradamian mumbo jumbo, just bold prophecy unsupported by any theoretical underpinning, other than Santorini being a volcanic powder keg responsible for one of the largest eruptions in recorded history.

Incidentally Jon, if it does blow up & Oia, one of my favourite places in the whole world, gets damaged then I'm holding you personally liable.

Can I ask you a question?

What caused the Yangtze to turn red?

Some people are citing pollution, while others are claiming it's one of the biblical plagues run amok.

So, I'm wondering what your take on it was, and if we should start securing the Thames should the Women's Institute get wind of it and the idea catches on.

Edit - Also, why didn't you predict it?! :-@
