So long as we don't actually get any of that weather for the next month.

Yup. I have a hard time getting warm once I'm cold and I hate dry itchy skin.

I find if you repeatedly and rapidly rub an area it soon warms up, especially whilst in bed.

Then use moisturiser.

Yeah I could do that, but it doesn't help for long. I am usually buried in layers of blankets and awake in the middle of the night, hot and mad about being hot.

Moisturizer doesn't really work for me. I can never remember to put it on consistently. The only thing I've found that works is a humidifier or vaporizer. I think a lot of it has to do with how I shower. I take a very hot shower and they say that removes the moister from my skin.

Don't use layers of blankets!

Warm yourself up underneath a decent duvet and it'll keep your body heat inside so you can reuse it for staying warm until morning.

You don't need to put it on consistently - put it on when your skin start getting dry/uncomfortable. Not really anything to remember, since it reminds you itself.
And if it's the shower doing it then put it on after you've dried yourself.

And don't take too hot showers. Scalding can't be good for you. :P

Electric blankets are awesome for staying warm in bed.

I don't like electric blankets. Sian loves to get into a roasting bed but I find I'm too hot after a couple of minutes without it, even in the winter. We have an electric blanket that can be controlled separately on each side and mine never gets turned on.

Do you not have adjustable ones? I love getting into a warm bed too, but once I'm I. I'll switch the blanket from 'preheat' to 'overnight' mode, on about 6 or so (out of 10) and that keeps it a comfortable temperature.

I think it has a timer, or switches for certain lengths of time. Still too hot without it, I'd be boiling if it was on overnight. Sian would probably love it on through the night though.

I much prefer getting into a cool bed. I tend to find that my own body heat and farts then maintain a decent temperature in the bed.

My wife was always one for using electric blankets, and we had a double one with individual settings at one point. Mine never got used and I found the stupid thing uncomfortable and it slid around all over the place.

There was always the slight worry of what would happen if I pissed myself as well. Not that that's a regular occurrence or anything.

Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm a schizophrenic, And so am I

I seem to act as the bed radiator. I couldn't be dealing with an electric blanket. Whilst I don't like getting into a cold bed I warm the bed up really quickly.

That's why I have the connector by my feet. The control pod thing has a long enough cable that I can still reach it.

We've only had it on the bed for 2 nights and already it's been annoying me. I might see if the cables are long enough to reach the bottom of the bed or chop the thing off my side. Or maybe I.could asleep in the back room foe the.winter. more room, less snoring and a comfortable temperature.
