Had a tooth extracted today, surprised to find that it's feeling mostly fine. Also surprised to find that an unrelated abcess elsewhere in my mouth seems to have reached critical mass and is now a constant throbbing ball (nj) of pain in my face. :-@
Thanks to the extraction I can't let my heart rate get too high so doing intense things to distract myself isn't really possible, and paracetamol made a very negligible difference. Anyone have any good advice for dealing with something like this in the short term?
Oragel was the best stuff I found when my wisdom teeth came in, completely numbs the area! Better than ambesol which only worked for about 5 minutes in my case. Cocodamol and Ibuprofen is a good alternative though and you can take both at the same time if it's really bad!
How is it today? Have you got an appointment to see the dentist about it?
Best bit of medical advice I ever heard was a line from Fawlty Towers, Basil's telling the Major about Sybil's ingrowing toenail operation. The Major comes back with the line, "Well, if it's hurting, you have it out". :-{)
