So, I'm doing a little website for a friend and part of it is a gallery.

I'd really like it to work like the one on Eurogamer. i.e. you click the thumbnail and the image loads in the middle of the screen and darkens the actual webpage behind.

Example: http://www.eurogamer.net/gallery.php?game_id=10235&article_id=403678#anchor

Does anyone know how this is done? I can't seem to get at the EG code to find the function.

Many thanks.

Eurogamer is using the Prototype Javascript Framework. I'm not sure if they use a ready available plugin for it or if it's bespoke.

If you want something that is ready made and incredibly easy to use I'd go for JQuery and this Lightbox plugin.

So, I used this one: http://www.lokeshdhakar.com/projects/lightbox2/

But you still get props for pointing me in the right direction. And it was indeed very very easy to use. Many thanks.

in that script, if you have a group and click on any but the first image, it seems to ignore which image you clicked on and start at the beginning of the group

I love jQuery. After .NET, it's my favourite framework ever.

I haven't grouped anything. Each image is individual. One lightbox per hyperlink, if you see what I'm saying. It works perfectly for what I want.
