I'm thinking of writing something that will accept a series of example texts and work out the common elements in order to build suitable Regular Expression(s) that will match all the examples.
Not identified a need for it, but it sounds like a fun thing to do. :)
So yeah, does anyone know of any tools that already do this? (Especially Open Source ones, so I can look at their code).
I'd have to argue that anything you choose to pursue out of interest would have to be in some way, to you, fun. Fun in a specific (and kind of sad) way, admittedly, but I'd say fun nonetheless.
