Matt Damon plays Matt Damon in tedious, schlocky, dumb snoozer.

(full disclosure: we bailed after 45-mins in)

(yes I saw M. Bastard's review)

I found it disappointing. I was quite prepared to like it because of the 'getting to see weird things' factor. but it got less intelligent as it went on. Most of the fantasy themes have been done better in other films and Matt Damon/Emily Blunt have acted better. Plus the ending was always going to be a) it's angels of some sort, b) it's folk from the future or c) something similar.
I half expected Tilda Swinton to turn up and explain things.

This sort of scifi plot was handled soooo much better in Dark City, with genuinely menacing 'adjusters,' including a great Ian Richardson cameo.

yeah Dark City is excellent I think. Meanwhile I've seen that Adjustment Bureau once I'm sure, but I can't really remember anything beyond the men were mostly wearing hats. I think.

Even the banality of evil can be overdone.

I was thinking of Dark City. But it was also done better in the more recent comedy Free Guy.
