Yeah, I watched that a while ago. I completely agree. Unoriginal story with clichéd "twists" and pitiful script. I've experienced better clickbait.

Stanley Tucci made a plausible, albeit one-dimensional villain, Wahlberg and Weisz were egregiously miscast. (cf. Donnie Darko, for a model whitebread suburban fambly in distress). I expected better of Peter Jackson.

Oh gawd, yes - caught this on TV at some point. Found it bordering on the cynical and distasteful use of an awful crime to create something so naff
