What happened to 9.5mm hard drives?

It seems anyone who can't fit a 15mm drive in their 2.5" bay can't go above 2TB unless they're willing to pay half a grand for a 4TB SSD. Arseholes. :@

From the brief searching I've done, I've seen suggestions that 2TB is possibly the biggest for 9.5mm anyway.
Thankfully SSDs are coming down in price quite quickly at the moment.

That's probably because they're just 7mm drives in a thicker shell, so still only have two disk platters.

They could fit three in a 9.5mm if they bothered to try, but Apple turned everyone anorexic bastards. :@

Why do you say SSD prices will drop - I just searched and some websites said a ~10% drop is expected, but others said a ~10% rise will occur.

Because I've seen SSD prices dropping significantly across the last few months. Whether or not they're are the bottom yet, who knows, but they've definitely been going down more than 10%.

It's true. You get 128gb SSDs with 4 tokens from special packs of Cornflakes these days.

I'm not going to bite until there's one free in the box, though.

Heh, the cursed four words that meant you're not actually getting what they show...

"Hey look, this is cool"

"Yeah, I saw but it's a see back of pack"

"Oh. :("
