Yeah, FYI I searched for and found the original, 2004 thread, but somehow none of the comments did justice to the wild, wild absurdity of this groundbreaking project, that became the foundation for so many scifi tropes we now take for granted.

It is a very fine bit of period kitsch, whether with the addition of mood-enhancement or not. As I remember (and it's been a few years since I saw it), the animation of the Id monster, picked out only by bouncy **rays** is actually rather good.

The fx are mostly awesome. What had me laughing my ass off were the clunky plot, dialog and acting, we're talking high school drama club-level stuff.
