I don't have daguerrotype materials, but I have recently started playing with cyanotype.

Here is mine. Ikea desk and chair. Tidy, because I'm a clean freak and can't be dealing with messy desks.

There are a few things hidden behind the Macbook, but not much and there are pictures hung up around the room, just not behind my monitors

I'm transitioning to pipe-smoking and a side effect is less ash. Which is great. Keyboards last me more than 2 weeks.
It's a really nice keyboard though. With Alps switches. Which are fucking lovely.

I didn't know that was a thing, so just been reading up on it.
How've you found it, and have you got any finished pictures?

I imagine, and this might be completely wrong, that it's used for extinguishing fires.
(I also imagine it's entirely possible that he nicked it from a pub, and it expired in 2003.)

But there's not a fire there, so completely surplus to requirements.

According to the cinema, that's a myth, the real purpose is that it is a handy weapon for clubbing people over the head.

One advantage of using the same screen for work and home use is that it gave me justification for splurging on a 30" main monitor last year. A KVM switches the screen, keyboard and mouse over to my docking station for when I'm working.
