the typical superhero movie is worse than every other superhero movie ever made. It's like Gove and everybody doing better than average.

Well, you've obviously made your mind up, so I doubt anything I say will alter your opinion, but for people who enjoy enjoying films, I'd say:
  • Superman
  • Logan
  • Captain America: The First Avenger
  • Wonder Woman
  • Dredd
  • Ant Man
  • Whale Rider
  • Shazam!
  • Aquaman
Is a random selection of superhero films I have enjoyed, and Suicide Squad is one of the shittiest films I've seen, superhero or not.

Um, yeah I'd say you are splitting hairs. I've enjoyed watching some superhero films (including Suicide Squad, I guess my favorite is probably Doctor Strange unless it's Watchmen) for what they are: schlocky entertainment. This quality is hardly unique to superhero films.
