to me, Margaret Rutherford is the only Miss Marple (despite being nothing like Christie's Marple), and her theme is the only theme.

Edit ^^^ well, not that tough old bird Margaret Rutherford(!) I had to google her up to confirm her place in the Marple firmament. I've seen at least one, perhaps another of her marple oeuvre but not recently. I think Joan Hickson may be the best of the tv-era marples I've seen. The lieberry dvd of pale horse I procurred contained a second, earlier production (starring Daliel & Pascoe's Colin Buchanan, looking & acting like a Ewan MacGregor clone) that I mistook for the main event. After an hour, Herself had failed to appear and we realized the mistake.
