I use my shirt tails. Swirly bokeh eh?

I usually use my t-shirt but the front element of my 70-200 is a little grubby and it's not working on it. Maybe it's got good swirly bokeh though :)

Regular eyeglass cleaner is probably fine. I rarely clean my front element unless it's got crap splashed on it.

It's definitely important to clean if it's splashed in crap :D

I tried my glasses cleaner and it's looking much better now.

Unless there's a special coating, I'd say anything that cleans glass is fine.

I'm also guilty of just using my t-shirt, accompanied when necessary by moist breath.

I just got the cheapo canon ef-s 10-18mm lens. Not had a chance to use in anger yet, as it's arrival signalled the end of the dry weather with nice sunsets :(

All modern lenses are coated. Do NOT use Windex or other ammonia-based cleaner.

A handful of moist sand will take off any grunge.

Ah, that's your fault is it?  :-@

Sand, I hadn't thought about using that. I've got a bag full of the stuff outside. Might be a bit dry with all the sun we've had recently.

Please post any pictures you've taken in anger.

Afraid so. Cloudy but still hot and humid up here. Just of my 24mm pancake lens today too, so that's definitely game over for the weather :'D

How big is the image? I think there's a 1MB per-file limit which isn't mentioned and might not show an error message.

6000x4000 and around 6 meg :$

Heh, well that'll definitely fail the 5MB post limit.

Assuming tinyjpeg.com works on mobile that's probably the easiest way to shrink it.

You might want to wait for next month's data allowance before clicking on this :'D

(In my defence, this is first attempt with a wide angle lens, no tripod, too lazy to find a decent spot to shoot from (parked at side of road where I could), and no idea really what I'm doing with new camera and lens yet. This is straight from cam with no processing (yay for cameras with built in wifi, what a bloody useful invention!))

Unlimited data with my new (slow AF) plan...

Nice sky, there's a certain lack of shadow detail.
