Yes, I had to extend the power cable, though the SATA data was long enough functionally, if not for elegant usage.  But I am used to scrabbling about on my knees, wrangling male connectors.

How big a hard drive do you need (since I happen to have a 3TB one, still sealed)?

It's this ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Station-External-Desktop-Drive/dp/B00C9TEOCA ) one.

Long story short, we ordered one and two turned up. I'm not in the slightest bit honest, so I thought I'd sell it. Interested?

£65...any haggling will increase the price.  :-Y

Thanks but I've ordered some cables like Manthorp's idea. Shouldn't really need more than about 300GB.
