I want to get an external hard drive for backupping my stuff. I almost bought one today in Tesco that was reduced but after reading some bad reviews I'm glad I didn't.
I've also been considering a SATA docking station for a while so I can more easily fix people's computers/drives and use some old SATA drives I have lying around. I can do that now but I have to use my IDE enclosure, plug a SATA power adapter into the molex and plug that into the drive, then plug a SATA cable from the drive to a SATA to USB adapter I have, then that to the computer. Then get a big enough HDD for backupping things.
Docks aren't cheap though. A drive and dock would be more than an external drive. More convenient with an external drive that doesn't require a separate power supply. Just
wash plug and
go play backup. But I might use the other drives more if I have a dock that I can more easily plug them into.
Did Mr Manthorp buy a dick at some point?
