That is why cops should not have access to riot guns and military equipment unless they are trained by the military on how to use it, when to use it and why NOT to use it. They didn't shoot him. They broke his neck. Admittedly, I'm not sure how they did it; but if they used a gun then I agree they should wait until the US military (that bedrock of not over-reacting) trains them to do it properly.

I read, but cannot for the life of me remember where, something about how the institutionalised racism of the US police does indeed include affecting the way their black cops deal with black citizens. It's a messed up world and no mistake.

Perzactly. Let's face it, just like in any area: There are good cops and bad cops. Good bankers, bad bankers, good lawyers and bad lawyers. Training would probably weed out the yahoos right off.

I know they didn't shoot him. The military also could train police departments how to properly restrain a suspect or perpetrator. The cops let their anger get in the way of common sense. It isn't the first time cops have mishandled and killed a suspect.

Is there any reason to believe that the military are any better than the police in this regard?

And therein lies the rub. Anger management. Seems less like a training problem than a personality problem.

Blacks don't really do anything to cops. There's no equivalency, so your phrasing is completely senseless.

I think you're actually pretty smart, so I can't understand why you resent the struggles of black people and news reporting about it. If you don't like international news, and you don't want to know what's going on in the world, nobody is forcing you to read about it. Bigotry can be a sign of insecurity.

It's rather like asking 'when did you stop beating your wife?', and it simplifies a complex issue suggesting that all police are bigots. I reality, I suspect that most are not, but are tainted by the few bad apples. Similarly, I suspect that a majority of blacks are law-abiding.

As for "blacks not really doing anything to cops", I'll take your word for it. I'm sure you know what you're talking about.
