I'm not a big fan of the doom scenario stuff myself. If it's something going to actually happen in my lifetime, maybe. It's not like we could actually do anything about it. If and when it happens, it happens. I'd rather hear about things like our jungles, forests, mountains, oceans, etc. You know?
We watch a lot of the space documentary ones as well. We really like the ones that talk about creations and how they happened. We also like the ones that talk about the possibility of one day going out there and making a proper exploration of other planets. Both in and out of our system. There is just so much out there we'll never get to experience. We don't live long enough, and our technology hasn't caught up to our imaginations for such projects. Not really.
Have you ever seen Gorillas in the Mist? The movie they did about Dian Fossey and the mountain gorillas of Africa. I love that movie. It's one of my favorites. I love the shots of the gorillas.
We watch a lot of the primate ones as well. We just watched one the other day about snub nosed monkeys. They're adorable!
To those mentioning the new Cosmos series, did you ever see the original Carl Satan series? Utterly brilliant (if a little dated with the special effects), and was basically the core of my first year astronomy course.
We watch a lot of the dramas too. We like shows they actually put some effort into with an good storyline. We've been known to watch many of the crime, rescue, and medical dramas, but good documentaries tend to be our favorites.
Some others we like are The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Falling Skies, Vikings, Helix, The Strain, and we loved what they did with Battlestar Galactica. We've also been fans of the Star Trek shows since we were kids.
I remember the Rockford Files, St. Elsewhere, Emergency, Columbo, Kojak, Space 1999, and so many others over the years. I'd like to see them redo Space 1999. Like they did Battlestar Galactica. I'd like to see what they might be able to do with it now, compared to what they were able to do back when we were kids.
Do you remember a show named The Land of the Lost? I liked the general storyline, but that show needed some serious help in the special effects department. lol
I really need to finish watching Breaking Bad. I got about half way through the first series, was enjoying it, got distracted by something and haven't watched it since. I think the second series was starting when I was watching it so lots to catch up on.
I do seem to do that with TV series. I did the same with 24, watched a few, and possibly watched one episode of Lost.
I was about four when it started and don't remember much other than the lead bad guy, Zelda, had a wicked cackle. Scared the crap out of me as a little 'un.
There were robotic ball characters that moved by rolling around and their evil counter parts were robotic cubes that got jettisoned from space craft, landed and I have no idea how they got around. Presumably they waited to be kicked
into the right place by a passing miscreant
