Indeed. That's got to be one of the more awful ways of handling it. I'd just fuck them and go elsewhere as well. Or, use Adblock to block http://www.unixmen.com/wp-content/plugins/adblock-notify-by-bweb/js/* and that blocks the popup and makes the site usable again.

Or, and here's a really radical idea, if you're benefitting from the site consider adding it to the blocker's white list. Or are you so tight that you won't accept even ads from a site you use?

Generally, I have no problems with doing this, and I can understand a site which does politely ask (so long as it's not too obtrusive). However this site effectively *forces* you to do this (or use a workaround to block the JavaScript which disables the site), and that is really going too far. Especially as it has a "donate" option, so you may be someone who's given them £10, yet still gets caned by them for blocking the ads.

It's even more daft and hypocritical when you see that they have a whole article on there about how to block ads in your browser, so they're quite happy for you to stop other sites from getting advertising revenue...

Browser I use at work doesn't support ad block, so I have to look at their stupid ads anyway. Also, unixmen is not of much use to me. And I just gave them free advertising: lousy web site with shitty ads. Bastard, knock yourself out.
