Have you tried it out yet? If so, is it any good, and how does it play on your system?

If you're offering, I'll take a copy. :D

TBH I haven't looked at it, and I just googled it now: it looks like DI dumbed toned down for kids.

If you already bought DI through steam, you may get the same 'free' offer x4 I did.

If you still want one of mine, I guess I need your steam id? (never done this so not really sure how)

edit: DI is already pretty dumb.

Yeah, I got it through steam - I'll check out any notifications tonight.

Not sure how much the game can be dumbed down. As you said it's fairly fundamental - whack things and survive.

Would be cool if you could actually improvise new weapons using junk you pick up, instead of just picking up a blueprint. Also, some of those weapons held together with duct tape, like a circular saw duct-taped to a stick ?

Ah come on, we've all done that.

Some as part of their MEng studies! :)

This is the sort of weapon I'd craft.

As you can see, my man is in the middle, either morbidly obese or wearing a sombrero. Attached to his utility belt are 7 heavy duty sticks. At the end of said sticks are circular saw blades, each powered by a posh motor. No zombie's getting through that.

Of course, there are downsides. Every doorway is hazardous, and you risk bringing the building down on you. Also, you'd be vulnerable from attacks from above, posing serious risk to your sombrero, if you happen to be wearing one.

I like it!

Attacks from above could be repelled with a very strong point to the sombrero, which would also have a steel cage support to channel the force away from the wearer's head to the ground.

I see you put that siege engine game to practical use. What are missing, however, are hand grenades.

A quick google of strong sombrero yielded this. I am confused.

And a cat o' nine tails. What armoury isn't complete without one of those?

Or just for a spot of topiary.

That picture's gone. Have I inadvertently hot linked to some horse genitalia again?

I can see that picture still. It isn't horse genitalia so far!

Surviving isn't an issue, the worst can happen is you black out for 7 seconds. Moving on from whatever tedious hell can be a problem.

Is that mechanic in the sequel too?

You're right, it's back!

It could be a very slow moving gif that morphs from a white man with interracial issues into a picture of horse genitalia.

One can only hope. :C

I'll do a daily check and let you know if I see it. Although that isn't exactly exhaustive since it might change back again. We might need ant to make some sort of monitor with a raspberry pi.

Ant seems too busy messing with arduinos and posting the results to be bothered with this.

Where the hell's Ken at? All the time he's using up not posting here could be dedicated to this very project and then posting about it.
