How much do you download?

Just noticed that Windows 8 shows you an estimated usage figure for your various connections for the last 60 days.

Eep!

That's the best spreadsheet ever. It just needs a picture of the Hoff somewhere to really bring cohesion to the piece.

It's the random Spanish insults that really make it work for me.

Incidentally, I've downloaded another 8 gig since I posted that :|

I misread/interpreted that as "I'll fuck your hemand", to which I thought they must've seen his logo.

Our ISP caps usage @ 25GB and sends emails @ 75% and 100%. I'm shopping for a new ISP.

Wow. Surely that's going to change, ISPs in the US can't keep up with shitty limits like that. The Xbone I ordered for xmas has a download code for Forza 5 with it - according to the box it's a 45GB download. That'd  take 2 months on your ISP (assuming virtually no other internet use).

Internet in the US really is shit. How much do you pay for that? And what speed?

I've always refused to go with an ISP (or plan) that has a cap on usage, just simply because I download too much.

I've had friends raving about Fibre and how cheap they got it, but with a 40 GB cap. What's the point? A few HD films and I'd have that cap smashed.

Whilst I don't think I get amazing value for money, I think £39/month (70 CAD) for pretty much unlimited 152 Mbit cable broadband isn't too bad. Fibre looks to cost around £36/month (65 CAD) for "unlimited" 72 Mbit.

I'm unlikely to be downloading any 45GB games, but a couple of 4GBers, a new linux release, updates for 4 linux systems (including my android tablet), and a few hours of Corry and sundry other videos by Mrs.D add up. Over 25G they charge $2.50/G.

We were grandfathered at 60G (which more than covered our needs), until we weren't. Greedy bastards.

We pay about that for ADSL, (£15 for the broadband, £10 to rent the phone line), and we are currently etting about 13 Mbit down and 1.5 up.  Used to be mroe like 17 down but the line went shit about a year ago, when they built a new health centre between us and the telephone exchange.

And there's no usage limits.

This is from my laptop and Sabnazb.  There are 3 more laptops and two desktops in the house. And my webserver.

I have unlimited data, 25/5 from Comcast but I'd like to go with a 50/10 at some point.
