Best domain purchase/Hosting

Who are people using at the moment and why?  Ideally one company that deals with both domain purchase and hosting (though two different ones wouldn't be a huge problem).

Still use Nethosted. It's very 'basic' but it's reliable and the support is very very good.

(By basic I mean that on a shared server it's just LAMP and not much else, since that's fine for like 90+% of people. There's no Rails or Node or anything fancy schmancy like that)

Me too, though I've always used freeparking for domain purchase.  Do nethosted cover that too?

Aye, you can buy a domain during the buying-hosting process. Which simplifies things (in that there's literally nothing to set up DNS wise).

If you don't want to deal with faceless corporations but a real person instead (and support your local -ish economy to boot), this dude has been hosting me & Mrs.D's respective web sites since forever. Bonus: he's really knowledgeable about all kinds of networky and web stuffs, and artist-friendly.

Ta Smiffy, but your link arrived after I had pointed them in the direction of nethosted, who are about as faceful as an online provider can be in my experience to date. Not perfect, but quick and patient, which is what Gabe's company will need.  I'll bear Tuirtle Design in mind for the future though.

Too late to be useful I know, but I like Vidahost. They're reliable and dead helpful.
