I /know/

I would send her more stuff but so much gets held up
and (suspiciously) gets through if you pay a bit more

that link is more useful than anything else I've seen, thanks
guess I just have to send smaller (or lower value) packages in future
makes me mad though, when the shipping cost is more than goods value

Assuming that if you didn't have your daughter to send the baby clothes to, you'd probably just donate them to a thrift shop/charity or something, then yes, I'd put $0, or some really low figure - $10 - essentially meaning that if the parcel got lost, you wouldn't be that upset in terms of the monetary value of the items.

Haven't seen you around much.  And I'd like to say how nice it is to see you now.

That's most kind of you; it's a delight to see you, as always.

My limited presence has been entirely accidental; a recent rush of work for which, as ever, may the good Lord be praised; an overnight visit to my dear mother in Chipping Campden; a long-promised weekend in Poland with No.s 2 & 3 sons, followed by a weekend with my lovely newish lady friend to her family's pied a terre in France.

Set out like that it sounds like a (rather civilised) riot of self-indulgence, but sadly most of my time has been spent attempting to give a group of arts graduates hope for a professional future in an economic climate which palpably will not sustain 90% of them.

Au contraire, I think you'll find an almost insatiable need for burger-flippers the length and breadth of the land.
