As long as you set a date, and agree to stick to it, before the cheap train tickets sell out then I'll be there*.

Christmas meats are problematic enough for me these days, what with a spate of birthdays and the fact that my office puts on a hella good Christmas party (or sometimes even more than one).

 

But even then - not sure I'd want to traipse to Nottingham - London's easier!

The plan was to arrange for the first day of a German Xmas market. They normally start say October :)

If it's German Christmas markets you're after, the one in Mannheim is pretty decent.

I'm up for a meat as long as the travel costs are not massive. I have not been to many northern places but I would rather like a trip to York at some point.

 

Camping sounds awesome as well, but as you said, gotta wait a few years till the nipper is a but older.

This was one of the main reasons we chose Nottingham I think

Eerie have a pub in London and one in Edinburgh (my regular dive), both of which have test-tubes and spookiness aplenty without the need for anyone to set foot in Nottingham :|

But they are both much too far away for me and Oscar to afford to get to. We tried to pick somewhere in the middle of everyone and Nottingham was the best of a bad bunch.

That's why we should decide on a date before train tickets for that date go on sale. Right now that's up to about the 11th of November...

That's a Sunday! Drinking on a Sunday, that's bad that is.

Edinburgh-Leeds return is £35 if booked to arrive midday on 10th Nov and leave midday on 11th Nov.

 

Same journey for 8th/9th Sep is £80 - more than twice the price!

 

This is why confirming a place and date well in advance helps to guarantee better turnout!
