UKash Police Virus

Not really a rant as being practical only have myself to blame.

Just logged into my PC remotely to see that in gave been infected by the ukash police scam Trojan.
The virus works by locking you screen telling you that your PC has been locked for either looking at child porn, downloading illegal images or movies or music.

It then gives a drop down box and tells you to pay £100 to unlock your PC.

Now I know this is a scam, what annoys me somewhat is that my mother in law is in the house looking after james.
As his playroom is also my office there is every chance she has seen this.

Now have to explain about viruses and that I'm not a peadofile!

Grrrr

I've never seen this. Can you take a screen shot of the lock screen?

For future reference, how do/did you get rid of it?

Dunno yet.

Will take a stab at it when I get home.
Will report back.

Think I caught it early as that was really easy.

Msconfig > startup > find program disable> run malwarebytes.

Other variations lock and change files thus one didn't or didn't get a chance before I shut down the pc.
