I dunno how many of you are interested in this. But for a couple of weeks the Android/iOS part of the licence is free. Free! So you get the editor and code...thingy which is already free and now you can make stuff for Android and iPhones too.

I kind of feel like I'd like to have a go with it, but I have no idea how I'd ever find enough time. hey ho!

It appears that one uses it to make games. Which rather seems like the digital equivalent of pissing in the ocean.

I think the idea is its used to make games a lot easier than programming from scratch would be - there's an engine and libraries and whatnot. Plus a browser plugin that mean they needn't be standalone executables unless that's what you want.

Sort of an advanced 3D Construction Kit all updated to the modern age.

Unless you mean anybody making new games is like pissing in the ocean. I mean, there's a lot of games already!

Not entirely true.

What is not entirely true? :?
But, this (giggle)

OMG Pirates!

Take on the role of the ninja, and defend your homeland against your evil pirate nemeses. Yes yes, its a little ridiculous, but its really just an excuse to bombard your eyeballs with AWESOME NINJA ACTION.

Indeed, that is what I meant.

Oh, right. Well yeah, everyone stop making games now! We've got plenty! We can apply this to quite a few things really. Got loads of books 'n films too.

It appears that one uses it to make games.

That's not really what I meant either. It's just a reason for me not to get excited about it, like there's enough games out there already that I don't give a shit about, there's no point in me getting excited about Unity. But I bet there are kidz the world over for whom this is a veritable wet dream.

No harm done!? I have a grazed knuckle and a stubbed toe, both of which are directly attributable to this thread. :@

Is there anything that gets you excited, apart from prison rape?

I wouldn't say that prison rape gets me /excited/, just the thought of the arrogant getting their come-uppance. Like watching a RTA where the only victim was on a mobile phone. It's all good, but hardly exciting.

What gets me excited? Hmmm, pretty much nothing that I can think of ATM.
