I feel your pain. Everything should be free. Except tobacco products, which should be £1,000,000/pack. The whole economy should be grounded on the ability of the filthy rich to smoke themselves to an early grave. And they should have to pay for their own hospital costs to boot!

I do pay private medical insurance. That way, if I ever have need of medical intervention while in the UK I don't have to put up with the NHS. We're all part of the world economy, sweets.
