I r making a game

I'm attempting something that only the mentally ill ever attempt..

I'm trying to make an mmorpg.

So far it's on day.. 4 (I think), and I have a preview of it live:

http://www.mikeefranklin.co.uk/Build/streamed.html

It has basic networking in it (i.e. you can see other people slide around, but can't interact or chat with them yet).

The graphics are terrible, I know, but I won't even be troubling myself with them until I have at least a half reasonable bit of game play in there.

Eventually it's going to be steampunk themed. We have a pretty good understanding of how we want character progress to work. Leaving it open to allow us to add micro-transactions into it at a later date.
Most of the character stats, inventories, auctions/trade, guild management..etc.. will all be accessible via the website. One thing I know that most mmorpgs lack is the integration with the website.

So um, yeah. Watch this space!

If anyone's interested in messing around with the code, maybe helping out, playing with the water/sky, networking, models..etc.. then all help is appreciated. It's pretty interesting just to get your hands dirty in there to see how it all works and what interesting things you can come up with.
I can add anyone to the dropbox share.

One day it'll beat WoW ;D
