I work for myself, I can be online whenever I like :)

it wasn't my company, I meant the company I worked for

big firms (motorola, intel, etc) designed new microchips, could be CPUs, memory chips, graphics chips, sound chips, whatever - we designed the systems to stress-test them - can they work at 200OC - can the same chip stay working at -50, what if the humidity is 50%? what if the power source is unstable? etc etc

I was not in the electronics design side, I mostly did PCB layout design, someone else had designed the system and I converted their paper designs to physical circuit boards
