Really? I'm surprised most people/everyone didn't realise I was being silly. If not then you are all silly :P

 

Megawatt laser stuff is the kind of thing that shoots down missiles and not something that would be much use on a thermometer. It would burn whatever you were trying to measure :) And about a billion times more powerful than mW stuff.
