- Keanu Reeves' acting in this film is shit. It improved, imperceptibly, in later work (actually I thought he was pretty good in Rivers Edge).
- Keanu Reeve's faux-English accent is shit.
- The shadow-puppetry bits (including the opening slaughter scene shot in silhouette) are a brilliant addition
- Assorted parts (plot, dialogue and scenario) would not be out of place in a 1970's porn flic.
- In the most porno-like scene of them all (starts with a lesbian kiss), Dracula appears to be more of a werewolf (huh?), however, on closer inspection, his hairy beast-face more resembles a bat. Sort of.
- Gary Oldman is FREAKIN' AWESOME.
- Gary Oldman's performance in Dracula may the most OTT of any actor whose name is not Nicolas Cage.
- In every other film of his I've seen, his acting is generally subtle and understated.
- As old Dracula (in the castle), his hair looks like a weird, fleshy protuberance hanging down the back of his neck. This could be down to our tv, but it did have me weirded out until I realized it is, in fact, hair.
- The totally non-CGI effects are FREAKIN' AWESOME, especially the blue rings of fire, and the Dracula's Brides. Fucking hell (in a good way). The wolf bits are pretty cool too.
- More to follow, after I finish re-watching it for the nth time.
