via kodi with naughty plugins, anyway. Tut!
Yep. I would never do such a thing of course. :-|
I wonder which is more illegal, or which has the higher penalty should the feds come a' knocking; torrenting and downloading a file you've not paid for, or streaming a file you've not paid for, but don't retain a copy of.
Torrenting does come with uploading so is maybe worse? Technically you're distributing as well innit. I don't know if they bother prosecuting little people though.
Aye, I read somewhere (speculation of course) that if you watch the odd thing via Kodi occasionally it's pretty unlikley you'll get hauled in front of a judge.
Without wanting to sound supercilious, I got Kodi for watching and listening to all my stuff I've spent the last few months ripping from CD/DVD/Blu-ray. I do use it for watching the non-terrestrial F1 races via the Sportsdevil plugin which has streams to Sky Sports, but that's it. I've looked at Exodus and Genesis, but was pretty underwhelmed.
I've had Kodi for ages but I don't mess with the plugins much - hate the ones that change the skin and interface particularly. So I still torrent and use it to watch the results, when I bother.
Getting taken to court seems a lot less likely than getting those letters threatening it but offering a settlement of £$xxxxx to make it go away.
