Yup. Brilliant game. Played many many hours of it but never finished the story, and now I can't cos it won't run on Win10

I forgot that I'd been put off before by this being an RPG game, but it appears to have other, redeeming qualities. FO3 is off to a rather tedious start, what with a 10-year olds' birthday party in an underground bunker (seriously?), his first bb gun, and other 'fascinating' plot developments. I'm hoping it will cut to the chase soon. Also the graphics are a bit sub-par to what I'm used to, but I have it on pretty low settings.

The start is tedious as hell, especially the second or third or fourth time.
There are mods for better graphics. Aso Mac the settings out, it's not that intensive.

I set it on low because the intro cut scene is really blocky on my 1080p display (worst video playback in a game I've ever seen, actually). I might try to boost it.

It is 7 years old, but yeah it definitely hasn't aged well graphically.
Have a Google for graphics mods, there's a load that of them that make a real difference by swapping the textures out for something a little(lot) more high res.

cut scenes like that often aren't related to the in-game graphic settings though, in performance or what you change 'em too. Often it's because they've just pulled the assets from the console version so they're aimed at a 720p TV or something.

Got up at 4am today so I could make a start on Fallout 4. So far, I'm enjoying it very very much. It has a similar feel to Fallout 3. That lonely, stark atmosphere is still there (I found it missing from New Vegas personally).
It plays very very like Fallout 3 with just a few tweaks to the leveling system.
Graphically, it's a mixed bag. There's parts that I think look stunning, and then there's the first town you visit that looks pretty flat and boring.
Looking forward to getting stuck into this.
One thing that irks me, and this is intentionally vague, there seems to be elements of the game that are locked out unless you upgrade your character in a certain way. And I didn't.
