Yeah, I could logon but not read messages, or read messages in guest mode only, both here & hermit's kave (another beehive)...

It's a problem with the timezone code Beehive uses and with calculating Eastern Standard Time. When I know more I'll post here.

The ones I've visited are erring out, I can't even get to the login page. Very strange!

A temporary fix from the user end, if you can get into My Controls (which I couldn't here), is switch time zone to something other than EST...

Mine was CST as well, I think it compares timezones or something.

Want to thank Matt for his quick response - good shit once again Matty!

No restart should be necessary.

Do you get those errors all the time, or was it just while the file was being replaced? If the errors persist, I recommend you try deleting and reuploading the timezone.inc.php again, making sure it's in the correct place.

If they only happened while you were uploading and have since stopped, you can safely ignore them. Errors like that can crop up when you're uploading files as PHP tries to read them while they're incomplete.

I changed it to GMT to, but I read earlier the issue had to do with EST.

Matt,
Harv here, we are running an older version of the forum software, can the timezone thing be problematic for us as well.  None of my membership are able to sign on.

We get the login screen but then the error screen comes up with the retry, and that's the end of it.

It's very likely the same problem, yes. Which version of Beehive are you using?

Unfortunately we are way back at 8.2

We have been without a lot of support lately.

Trying to get things up to snuff on Php and MySql with our providers.

Outstanding support Matt...applied and worked perfectly...now should be the time for older version users to upgrade to 0.9.1 for the latest changes.

I think the patch will work for 0.8.2, but you'll want to backup your existing timezone.inc.php before you replace it, just in case it doesn't actually work.

If it does work for you, please reply here and I'll update the patch notes.

Okay, Matt, I will give it a shot.  IF it doesn't work, I will shut down our other regional folks (appears that Mountain and Pacific time zones are unaffected and our folks in Arizona wouldn't be affected because they are smart enought to blow off the requirement to go to daylight savings time.

Thanks will take the shot and give it a go.

Harv
