I have been a fan of the Gorillaz for a long while now, the first couple of albums are some of my favourites and I was soo looking forward to there lastest outing.

Well I should know by now that life likes to kick you in the teeth and then ask if you like having two eye's or will one do!

I bit of a disapointment is an understatment. I cannot even find one standout song, if you can call them songs, more like background noise plinky plonky new age hippy japanese cartoon thingy.

I have only played it through a few times but I don't even see it being a grower.
I am hopeing they turn around and say, Ha, this is only a joke album, here is the real one, but I very much doubt that.

I give it minus 7 shitting seagulls and 1 dead pigeon.

Perhaps I just don't "get" it.

I was right, I didn't get it at all. I watched the making of DVD extra and it makes a lot more sense now. Still not what I was expecting though.

Not really no. A few of the songs are getting better but still not my cup of tea.

I used to love the Gorillaz before I fell out with all music that doesn't make me want to fight someone.

The single they keep playing on the radio is dire. It's not exactly catchy like "Got the coooooool, got the coool shooooe shiiiine", is it?

No, Not at all. I keep listening to the album and its now growing on me a bit. Nice background music but still a disapointment.

As much as this is an old thread, I thought I'd add to my comment by saying that I really like their second single off of the album, Melancholy Hill. It's so catchy and chill-out, it's rather good.
